The 2026 Venice Biennale is well underway, having officially opened to the public on May 9, 2026. And while Thailand doesn’t have an official national pavilion at the biennale this year, the kingdom is still being well represented by quite a few Thailand-based artists, performers, and curators who are taking part in this seven-month-long art extravaganza.

When the city of Venice is taken over by La Biennale di Venezia – aka: the Venice Biennale – it’s a chance for countries around the globe to show off the best contemporary art they have to offer. Sadly, Thailand hasn’t hosted an official national pavilion in Venice since 2019, but the kingdom has nonetheless maintained a consistent presence over the intervening years.
