Yasmin Jaidin holds degrees from Goldsmiths and Chelsea College, University of the Arts London. She has produced work exploring themes on redaction, cultural shifts and the fragility and resilience of cultural forms. Jaidin is known mainly for her process of working with everyday materials like sugar, flour, grass and more recently, fabric. This approach is deeply rooted in habits formed at the start of her practice in 2005, when conventional art-making materials were once scarce and financially inaccessible in Brunei. Her work engages with societal sentiments and issues faced in Brunei. Her works has been exhibited across Asia such as Pulau (Vargas Museum, 2018); Collection of Personal Items II (The National Art Center, 2017); Titih (Gallery@10 Square, 2024) and Titih, Harvest (Osage Gallery, 2025)
