Ruangsak Anuwatwimon (b. 1975) is a Thai contemporary artist who is based in Bangkok, Thailand. He is passionate about Art & Nature and looking for the future evolution of humans. In his works, he wonders how humans can resolve the problem; his work reminds one of the “Regenerate Sculpture” concept. Like Ash Heart Project, a total of 270 heart-shaped artworks made from ashes for a wide range of 270 different species. Most of the specimens were found in the surrounding area and shaped the sculptures into their final forms. The GOLEM project was exhibited at BKK Art House in Bangkok and Palais de Tokyo. The GOLEM concept is a construction of a utopian human being whose parts are made from the ashes of animals and plants. His ash project reflects on the protagonist's relationship humans have with our natural world. Ruangsak employs diverse media to express his ideas and challenge the perimeters of what constitutes an artwork. His conceptual projects explore the social, cultural, and moral grounds of human societies. Recently, Ruangsak joined the Mekong Fulcrum project (2023-2028) and started running activities named ART WORMs collective. ART WORMs collective is about investigating and gathering people who are interested in the changing(or collapsing) of Mekong ecologies and local culture affected by dams and development. Every year, ART WORM will bring more people to engage with local people and the changes of the Mekong River.
